First day.

I had a great weekend. My friend got married on the 31st (will post that later). Just want to give a blurb on my training.

So what did I do for the first day of 2007?

Bike - 105' (1 hr 45 min)
Run - 30'
Bike - 20'
Stretch - 15'

The run was with two friends. I am slowly recruiting people in my church to run with me. I first got Mel to run. She is crazy b/c she likes to run in the winter time. Yesterday we got another person (J-Dawg) to come out. There were others that are interested but can't make it. We might have a group in the future...excellent.

My training for the Dec have been on and off. In fact, I can say I slack. I did put in a lot of running mileage. Just hitting the pavement everytime I can and stroll around my urban neighbourhood.

Yesterday run was great. I was feeling so good that on the way back I was ripping it. If not for Mel yelling 'Cliff, slow down..you are going too fast', I would go full out. Enjoyed great company and the wilderness.

There is something coming up ahead with regards to training I haven't annouce yet....but will do so SOON.

I spent last night praying and reflecting the past year. It killed my sleeping schedule (remember my 8 hr challenge?). Today, I still got up and do a 30 min jog.

Despite my lack of training, I am feeling super. My body wants to train more. 2 hr bike ride is not enough. Hmm.. a 3 hr bike ride is more like it. Perhaps a 2 hr run afterwards. If I put 45 min swim in front of it, I will be doing a half ironman. :D. Hmm...better take it easy....

I need to get some swim in. Most of the local pools are close until Mid Jan. Ekk..what can you do...at least I am amping up the run and bike volume.

I hope everyone have a great new years....resolution wise, I have none. I do have a list of things I want to focus on 2007.

Pools closed until mid-Jan?! The horror!

Nice workouts! It's sunny out and I can't wait to run--even saw some roadies out today!

Hello again Cliff. Maybe that lack of training in December translated into some good rest, now your body's well rested and ready to go. My vote is on an easier start, easy does it in the beginning...you've got the whole year ahead of you. But I think I know what you mean, once you get going and everything feels right you just want to keep going.

Happy New Year.

I know what you mean about the pool closures. Around here, they were all closed b/c of the holidays, and I was itching for a swim. That's when the ocean comes in handy.

Doesn't sound like you're too much of a slacker to me with all the running and biking you've been doign1

Oh yeah I remember the 8 hours challenge, that I can't accomplish!

Great to read that after being a slacker -if you say so-, you could still enjoy your run!!!

Hope the new group doesn't slow you down. There is not ebough time to train others and ourselves :)

Wow - You got off to a GREAT start for the New Year. I think it is great that you are getting others to run as well. Have fun!

Looks like your ready to go; enthusiasm is half the rent.

I know I would totally fail your 8-hour challenge. I think I would struggle with a 7-hour challenge at the moment.

Happy New Year!

"In fact, I can say I slack."

I've been a slacker, too.

Good workout to start the year!

I'm with ya, Cliff! I, too, have no resolutions. I do have some goals, though. And several areas of focus.

2007 will be a great year, Cliff!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
