Doing normal stuff...
Just like to share what I have done over the weekend.
Saturday, my Fellowship volunteered at Operation Christmas Child. It is a Non Profit Organization that send shoeboxes stuffed with toys to children in Third World Country. Our job was to sort through the shoeboxes to make sure they are safe for the kids.
It was a great experience. In the shoeboxes, there were often things that I wouldn't think of sending to a child. Simple things like pencil, paper, toothpaste, or toothbrush that I take for granted living in Canada. I overheard a story how a boy saw paper in his shoebox and was excited now that he could go to school.
Yesterday, my day consisted of:
6:00 am - got up
6:30 am - 7 am - in the pool
7:30 am - 7 pm - at work (data entry)
7:30 pm - 8:00 pm - dinner
8:30 pm - 9:00 pm - drop by to visit a friend
9:00 pm - 9:50 pm - pool encore
10:00 pm - 10:45 pm - rest my shoulders and back and watch tv.
I couldn't believe I typed for almost 12 hours straight. Yup, I am feeling it on my shoulders today. Going to hit the chlorine pool again after work. So far I only have been focusing on doing drills. Master the fundamentals and everything else will be easy.
Was browsing http://www.videocodezone.com/, they have a lot of videos. You can add them to your blogger. Like Flatman or Bolder. I am going through the Linkin Park Videos. Sweet!!!
I also have bought a lot of gifts for myself...err I mean equipements to train with. I got a pair of swimming fins and a pull buoy. I also got two shirts from Wil's store. Xmas is early for me. Wait..I need to save money for tooth.

you're gonna be so fishy, so soon.
keep hittin' that pool Cliff!
Thanks Bold.
I am going to hit the community pool so much that I am going to smell like chlorine.....
hmmm don't need cologne no more :)
My wife hates it when I smell of chlorine. She knows when I've been swimming! Let us know how those fins work for you. I've thought of gettimg some Zoomers but just haven't done so.
Train well.
Nice schedule. Now I feel like a lazy bum :P I think I'll run outside tomorrow...
My wife hates when I smell like chlorine. I shower with soap and I still smell like it. Every time she says something about it, I just try to get proud. That's right, I'm always in the pool. Kind of a badge of honor. Wierd hah. Hey, we all have our things.
Congrats on the swim schedule. If you stay consistent, you'll be growing fins in no time! Just one word of caution-- be sure not to swim past the point where you're tired and your form starts to fall apart. At that point you're no longer doing yourself any favors.
But as long as you're feeling good, keep it going! And send some of that swim inspiration to me, because I haven't been in the pool since September! :-0
Those Shoeboxes... my church does those, and things like school supplies are on the list of things recommended to include. Funny... think how bummed out our kids would be, if they're over about 4 years old, to get paper, pencils, erasers, etc., for Christmas.
Except I'm not at my church this year due to living full-time in our RV and being a vagabond. I miss the church family.
Good post. 1st time I have heard of "Stockdale Paradox" - retaining the faith that you will prevail while facing the reality of the day - but this is something that will stay with me for a long long time. Sounds very much like the Christian walk and the daily battle with the evil one.
