Feeling like a runner and eating like a pig...

Let's start with tonight's weather. It was windy and cold. How cold?

That cold. The wind was stronger. And the forecast left out the snow. My mom was told me there was a wind warning. Since my fellowship is moved to tomorrow and I had tonight free....so off I go.

This was the first time I ran with my camel pack. Every time I took a step, the water would start to squish. Squish squish squish throughout the night. I enjoyed the camel pack better than the little bottles around the waist or the bottle in hand. To my surprise, I didn't feel the added weight on my back.

My route took me to the hill in my previous post. The hill was 600 feet in height. My plan was to run up the hill, loop it around, do it again and go back home.

I thought I was the only crazy out there. I guess crazies enjoyed companies. As I was climbing the hill, I saw a flock of crazies running down. I even saw two cyclists. That's nuts. I thought it was too cold to ride...(or is it??)

As I headed back home, my stomach started to growl. I felt like bonking. I slowed down....

To keep myself motivated, my goal was get to the convenience store. Why? Because I want junk food :). My body was low on sugar...chocolate bars would solve that problem :D.

I ran as fast as I can. Grabbed two chocolate bars (they were on sale) and stuffed my face. I had a Three Musketeers and a Crispy Crunch. I got home and opened a bag of chips and ate half of it. Not necessary the best post recovery nutrition. I have a real dinner afterwards...

So now I am full and my legs are sore. I have a little blister on my left foot.
I feel like a runner and eat like a pig :)

I ran 15 km (9.3 miles) in 1:30-1:40. Average intensity. Nothing too hard and nothing too easy. I have no clue about the time b/c I didn't wear a watch.

Darren hasn't responded back for this Sat. I might follow Jameson's advice. I would love to go for a hike. Enjoy nature.

Training hasn't start yet....right now I am just having fun.

To get rid of the sloshing, just squeeze out all the air from the Camelback bladder. Then the bladder won't have any "empty spaces" for the water to slosh into.

As for the cold, I'm afraid I've got you beat so far: -17C without the wind!
