Mt Tremblant kicked my butt...literrally.

I am back. And I got my butt kick. Oh Mr Tremblant. That was painful.

We left Toronto at midnight. It was 8 am by the time the bus arrived at the hotel. Len and I slept on the bus the whole time. Not very comfy but my body need rest for the snowboarding I am going to do.

It was warm. Slushy. It was nice up on the mountain top, though. It's good to be on the slope again. This was the first time I snowboarded on an actual mountain. For a while, we were in the clouds. What a great feeling. The ambient was amazing.

I can't put away my training. On Fri after we finish boarding, I hit the treadmill for an hour. Worked up an appetite and head out for dinner. The group went to clubbing afterwards, Len and I turned in.

Len and I think alike. We came here to snowboard (well, he ski). None of us have much interested in the club life. Efficient in every way. Go to bed early. Get up. Stuffed ourselves with breakfast and head out. We packed Clif Bars and filled our camelpack with water. The lifts open from 8:30 am till 3:30 pm. Need to take advantage of every minute.

There was one trail call Devil's Mouth and they put a banner with this word 'Expert' on it. I don't know what that word means but it scared everyone away. Good. We went through this trail and we barely saw anyone. We would stop half way and enjoy the view. [The trail ain't as bad as I had thought. Just very technical].

Now here's the part where my butt is kicked. At the end of the day, I caught a wrong edge and flipped. I landed right on my butt (specifically right cheek). Ouch. I laid there for a while and couldn't stop laughing. The sad part is that on the steep and difficult terrain, I will be fine. But on the easier course, I am more likely to wipe out. After a few more timse landing on my butt, my butt had enough and I called it a day.

I tried to swim and my right chest hurt when I pull in the water. Nothing I can do but sit back and rest up. Spent Sunday wondering around the village.

I slept and ate a lot at Tremblant. That's practically all I do. Sleep, eat, board, eat, sleep. One dinner, I passed out right after. My friend, a registered dietrician, told me later it was not good to sleep while you have food in your stomach. Your stomach will be working hard but it can't b/c your body shuts down when you ZZZ.

My butt is still sore. I guess this is a week I am resting. I got the swim video from the Swim Clinic a few weeks ago. Will find a way to clip it and posted it up here.

Christmas is in one week....

Of course you ate a lot! Snowboard--run. Snowboard--fall down--snowboard--swim. That's a lot of work! Sounds like fun.

Everytime I've wiped out while skiing, it's always been on the "last run". :) Sounds like good times Cliff.

That sounds like a great trip! I remember when I learned to snowboard many moons ago, my butt was REALLY sore from slamming down on it!

Cliff! Glad to hear you had a good time at Tremblant... and way to kill it on the Expert-only trail! Good job getting in some training as well! :)

Awesome Cliff- sounds like you had a great trip although going for a run workout AFTER boarding all day is just wrong sir! My legs have been rubber anytime I hit the mountains so can't imagine running afterward. Solid!

Awesome! I bet you burned a million calories with all that snowboarding. That's something I'd really like to learn one day.

Happy Holidays!
