Running...

I have been running after work for the past few days. The weather has been shifting slowly to winter. Last week there were rain and snow. In those weather, I still opt to go for a run.

Despite the desire to stay indoor and be warm, I run outdoor. There is a feeling outside that the treadmill cannot replicate. Maybe it is the way my feet hit the pavement. Or the way wind picked up around me. Or the way the streetlight illuminate the darkness. I enjoyed venturing out.

My daily run is not particular long. It ranged from 30 min to 60 min. I selected quieter small roads and paths along the park as oppose to bigger roads with busy traffic. When I run, I run by myself and keep to myself. I stopped running with a mp3 player so I can hear myself think.

Last night I had to run on the dreadmill. I had no choice. I 'ran' out of clean training clothes. :) I did my laundry afterwards. So tonight, I will be off to embrace the cold.

I am contemplating what to do this Sat. There is a Santa Shuffle (local 5 k race). I told Darren I will venture out with him in the trails like we did a few Sats ago.

The 5 k race will be a good way to determine my Latec Threshold (LT) for the coming season. Mind you, I haven't been pushing hard for the past months. I dno't know how fast I will go.

On the other hand, going with Darren equates to a three hour hike. It is nice to climb up and down in the woods.

Either I run fast and cough up a lung or I hike around and get all muddy. What to do what to do :)

Hmm, since you seem motivated to run than me, perhaps you ought to run my marathon for me :-)
