Power of Quotes...

I love quotes...I love the simplicity of it and the point that it strikes. This one hits me like a brick wall.

To avoid criticism do nothing, say nothing, be nothing. - Elbert Hubbard

Not much going on. Woke up at 5:55 am. Went to one community pool at 6:34 am. They were close that morning so went to another community pool. From 6:50 am to 8:25 am did all kicking drills. This pool was too shallow for me to practice vertical kick. So I spent the majority of the time kicking on my back with the fins. At first I was kicking with only my feet. Then the life guard came back and told me "you need to bend your feet" DUUH.....at least she told me what I am doing wrong :)

Ankles are a bit aching. I don't know if I am doing this right or not. I try to relax my leg and at the same time straigthen my feet. Kinda a contradiction cause whenever i straighten my feet, I tense up. The drilling continues....tonight was the second swim lesson but I got to cancel b/c I need to lead my Fellowship.

[Rant]....Access ARGHH..

More geek talk....so here I am created a report through the report wizard. There was a bug where the report wasn't showing the records in sequence. I want to sort it with HistoryID. I tried and tried, played with the OrderBy function (both in VBA and in properties) and nothing work. So I created a new report (not using wizard), cut and paste the objects into this new report. Use OrderBy function. Lo and behold it works.....wasted two hours of my time .....I wonder if I can charge Microsoft for this...

Great quote
Also...well done on moving from one pool to another - if that had been me, I would have said "oh I'm not fated to swim tonight, I'm going home!"
Keep it up...we'll be both swimming well by the time this winter is over.

If MS fixed all their bugs, I might be out of a job...

I love the quote! As for the swimming....I suck at it! I hate it when the swim coaches and swim teams are practicing....it is so obvious how NOT well I swim! LOL.

Don't you get snow where you are? I love the snow - IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO DRIVE IN IT!!! I'll send some!

Good quote! It reminds me of the following from the Buddhist text, "Dhammapada"

"People will blame you if you say too much; they will blame you if you say too little; they will blame you if you say just enough. No one in this world escapes blame."

And I thought that sort of thing only happened at my job! ;-)

This is why I can't be coached...I think I know it all and don't really care enough about my form to try and work on it. Flexibility in your ankles helps kicking though. Try to get your toes as close to the floor (point)when sitting with your legs out straight in front of you....then flex them back (pull if necessary...) Oh geeze- I must sound like a coach right now!!!
And as far as you running barefoot from your house in the night (dreams) I wouldn't analyze that one with a ten foot pole! (Is is the house you live in now or as a child?) Just curious!

Wow, an hour and a half of kick drills. Your legs must be tired.

Love the quotes. Listen to your body. I didn't, and now Im on the disabled list for two weeks. If you get a chance, check out my blog called ChristianRunner.com. You can find it http://www.ChristianRunner.com. God Bless.

That's a lot of time doing drills. You must be blessed with patience!

Huh, I thought fins helped by forcing you to bend ankles. You must be a runner first, runner's ankles are known for being very inflexible.

My husband (runner first) is also learning to swim right now. When he first started on the basic drills (kicking on back), he went nowhere, in fact, it propelled him backwards!
