Fifth Week - 23rd day training
Bike Ride
Drink: 650 ml Gatorade + 591 ml water
Distance: 25 km
Weather: Windy and cool (25 degrees)

It was such nice weather that I have decided to go for a relaxing bike ride. My plan was to go on the road for two hours. Weather was too good to stay home. It was nice and cool. I missed the long distance (100 km+) bike ride taht I have done last year. But my legs definitly need the rest. I can feel them giving out when I go up the hills.

I always say to train hard. The truth of the matter is you can't always train hard. Not when you are participating in endurance sports. If I try doing long distance run everyday, I am just foolish and probably injure myself. The key is to know your body well. Listen to it.

I am quite ambitious. I was hoping to go into the marathon to finish in 3 1/2 hr. Looking at my training and my body response to those training, there is no way I can do that. I haven't even built up the base for my body to handle 42 km.

So the solution? Slow down and stay discipline. Run slow on slow runs. Run long on long runs. Don't go all out. Keep your reserve and focus on that.

When Anners was training for 10km, I always told her to focus on distance first, then time. It is about time I take my own medicine.
