So how was your weekend?

Sat - Long ride - 4 hr 16 min
Sun - Ran part of the Around The Bay with Melissa (she was doing the relay)
- swim drills 40 min in the afternoon

Around The Bay is a 30 km race. My original plan was to meet up with Jon and run the first 10 km with him. Then meet Melissa at the 10 km mark and run with her. The morning I realized that if I ran with Melissa, I would be at 20 km mark. And if I park my car at the start/finish position, I would have to run 10 km to get back. This means, I might as well do the whole race. Running 30 km would be too taxing on my body. So I bailed out on Jon (sorry, dude, next time :) ).

I parked my car at 19 km. Walked 9 km back and met up with Melissa. Mel did the 5km last time at the Hannekah Hustle. Since this is her first time doing 10 km, I decided to run with her instead with Jon.

This is really a nice race. It is very well organized. Best of all is seeing the support from the community. Since this is my "S" race, I am able to enjoy the race. During the run, I just blah about training and what not. It is great to see another friend getting into running. The lab that Mel worked at, there is a lot of runners. In fact, the runners on her relay are from her lab. I guess I never imagine running with my co-workers. Might be in the future :).

There really ain't too much to say. I got myself a pair of shoes at the booths. I got my old shoes (Asics' Gel 1100). Now I am more confidence about pounding the road.

The weather is really nice. If I didn't ran, I would be out riding.

I really miss riding outdoor. I went and got myself a helmet on Sat with Donna. Donna is a friend of a friend. She got herself a trek bike and is going into tri this summer..sweet. Her friends are so nice. They got her a banto box, pump, tube. All the things she needs to ride. I was asking her to introduce her friends to me :D.

As I was talking to her about riding with the clipless and on a roadie, I thought back when I use to ride for long distance. :). Oh how I miss it. The freedom. The relaxation. The speed. This Fri, i am taking the afternoon off b/c I have a dental appointment. It is at 12:45. This means that I will have the whole afternoon to ride. Plan to go long. 4 1/2 hrs.

[Added: Almost forgot. This weekend is the 1st Annual Simply Stu's Worldwide Triathlon. I think the distance is like 400 m swim, 20 mile bike and 5 km run. Since I trained those distance (and longer) anyways, I signed up. The only thing I changed was spending 40 min in the pool on Sun.]

Sounds like a good weekend! Way to go. 4+ anything on the trainer is a notable achievement. You're butt must be made of iron.
