Push....

It feels like I am pushing through the week and I am barely moving at all. This week is the last week in Base 2 before I take a recovery week. Yesterday, I spent the morning arguing with my head why I should continue to train. Physically wise I am good. My body is ready to go. However, there is a lot of time commitment.

Work wise, I am moving to another office next Wed permanently. It shouldn't be too bad other than spending an hour more on commute. Will talk to the boss to see if I can get there later or leave earlier.

Church wise, my Fellowship is starting a food drive campiagn this month. There is a Drop In shelter in my city that we want to help out. Chinese ppl tend to be conservative. I want to do something different. Something wild. Want to do a skit or something to get everyone's attention.

Job wise, I need to bounce my resume out. There is one or two job postings that I like to apply. Will do that next week during my recovery week.

Gear wise, I need to get my bike gears ready. Need to get a helmet to ride outside. Get my aerodrink setup. Need new running shoes (getting it today).

Health wise, need to go see my family doctor (he has been hounding me to set an appointment) and go to the dentist and get my teeth fix (accident here). It is about time. I figure either I get my teeth fix in Spring or get it done during Summer....hmm..summer will be my race day...let's get it over with now :).

And of course, there is training :). My mind has been arguing that there is no need for me to do bike drills yesterday. There ain't enough time and I have mastered one legged bike drills already. Right.

Time is the factor. I don't see how can I do all my training if I take a day off. It just ain't gonna happen. Then during afternoon I thought about if I leave work on the dot. Go home, I can cramp 50 min of bike training and rush to the gym and work out, then I can head to my small group. I was overjoy when I see there is a light in the tunnel.

As Gordon Bryn said.."just f*#king train" And I did.

Bike drill felt harder than last week. It was straining but it was good. Smooth stroke the whole time. Workout was great. Leg press I am lifting 290 lbs (each side has 3 plates of 45s and one plate of 10). Woohoo. From Joe's Triathlete Bible, I believe I need to lift 2.2 times of my body weight. This would mean 319 lbs. It shouldn't be a problem.

This morning, my butt has some muscle sore pain. I need to stretch more. Three more days to go before Sat. I need to think of everyway to get my training in. I need to put more pool time. Once Sat comes, everything will be fine.

The battle against the mind and time continues. One question that keeps me going is "what have I done today to get myself prepare for Ironman?". That's the same quesiton Robo Stu ask Kahuna.

Well, I'm sorry that you're feeling drug out as well, but it's nice to know it's not just me! I'm gonna hit the hay early early tonight. Take care of yourself (and yes, get those teeth fixed... I lost 4 teeth and damaged 2 others in a bike accident... Also broke my jaw. So, I know where you are coming from. You'll feel better!)

people tend to remember the down points more than the high points. Perhaps the job listings and new offices is directon from God change things up.

I had some dental work done due to a racquetball accident. Should be too bad. Get some good ice cream.

Wish I had your dedication to training. I have been missing workouts left and right, and I do have an IM this year.

Know the feeling... Hang in there, pray, and the schedule/motivation will sort itself out. Glad to hear you are FINALLY doing something about that missing tooth. ;)

Good job on the "chilli" run too, sounds like you had a lot of fun!

I was wondering about the dentist... I remember you saying you were saving money. Yes, best to get it over with. You're time is well planned! But Cliff, you know, I did not read the one word I always look for...

It's those tough weeks that makes us stonger. Always rememeber, the harder you push the better the gains - up to a certain point, of course. Train hard, but don't overdo it.
